Pacifica Engineering Services, a Florida-based multi-discipline engineering consulting firm, manages a fleet of approximately 140 VEVA III vibration monitors deployed across dozens of concurrent projects statewide. In four years as an Inzwa client, Pacifica has scaled its monitoring operations using Inzwa Cloud as a centralized platform for equipment tracking, automated alerting, and client reporting.
Today, Pacifica manages 48 concurrent projects across Florida, most requiring fewer than eight monitors each. That volume of smaller deployments creates complexity. Equipment has to be deployed, tracked, maintained, and rotated across all sites while the team also responds to schedule changes, last-minute project needs, and more—without losing visibility into where anything is or what condition it’s in.
“Project schedules can change frequently, so flexibility is important,” said Christopher Fernandez, P.E., department manager at Pacifica.
In addition, each project requires its own data review and deliverables. Projects have different compliance requirements depending on the type of construction, proximity to residential areas, local regulations, and other factors.
“One of the biggest challenges was coordinating equipment deployment, monitoring data, and reporting across multiple simultaneous projects throughout the state. As our fleet expanded, maintaining consistency in monitoring procedures, alert notifications, and client reporting became increasingly important,” said Fernandez.
Pacifica standardized its monitoring operations using Inzwa’s VEVA III and Cloud platform. The VEVA III handles vibration and sound monitoring, while Inzwa Cloud provides a centralized view of monitoring assignments, deployment status, project locations, and equipment availability across the full fleet. That visibility simplifies and improves coordination of calibration, maintenance, and equipment rotation.
When project demands change or urgent monitoring requests arise, real-time fleet visibility allows Pacifica to identify available monitors and adjust deployments without disrupting ongoing work. “Inzwa gives us the ability to monitor deployment durations and proactively coordinate equipment transfers, extensions, or substitutions while minimizing disruption to ongoing projects,” said Fernandez.
The platform’s automated alerts and standardized reporting templates reduced the manual work required to manage dozens of active projects. “The automated vibration alerts, centralized project dashboard, remote access to monitoring data, and customizable reporting features have been especially valuable,” said Fernandez. “The ability to customize alerts and reports with Pacifica’s company logo and formatting also helps maintain consistency in our client deliverables.”

The operational capacity Pacifica has built supports large-scale deployments as well. For the recent implosion of the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, Pacifica deployed more than 30 vibration monitors across Brickell Key to track and document vibration activity during the event.
Fernandez’s advice for any firms looking to grow their monitoring operations: “Standardizing deployment procedures, reporting, and alert systems early on can greatly improve efficiency and consistency as the number of projects and monitoring devices increases.”
